SMOOTH-FINE DOUBLE RUSTICATED SCULPTURAL WHALE SMOKING PIPE KIT
This surprising Smooth-Rusticated Whale brings highly sculptural carving manner together with fine attention to the detail. The first good point about this creation is the size of the pipe. In spite of the most Whale pipes which you might have seen before, this pipe is not big. This is some how interesting how Alexa formed this nice shape with this moderate size. Although the size is not big, the Chamber Depth is well-designed to maximize the amount of Tobacco. The body of the pipe expresses the exact anatomy of the whale. The artisan even desgined the Drosal Fin on the back side and tail of the pipe has a nice acrylic insertion which ends with two smooth Flukes.
This beautiful pipe comes with its own pipe stand. The stand which is made of Cherry Wood and Acrylic. Complex three-dimensional concept of the stand is very remarkable. The stand shows the sculptural and spiral manner of carving with two bridges. Mouthpiece can easily goes through the upper bridge and the pipe nicely locates on the stand.
Aleksić Dragomir or so called Alexa was born in 1956, in Belgrade, Serbia. Formally educated as a mechanics engineer he acquired the skills needed around the machinery forty years ago. During his engineering career, firstly he nurtured his talent for artistic wood carving, as a hobby. Long has he desired to combine his natural artistic talent and his education inprecision engineering. Finally in 1995, his career took a change in direction when he decided to make his hobby a full time job, working as a designer and a wood carver infurniture production at first and as an indipendent pipe maker today.
What led him to be making smoking pipes specificly was pure luck, as it often happens with great moments in one's life. Years ago a chance meeting with an old acquaintance led him to witness a truly magnificet collection of smoking pipes in possesion of a passionate pipe smoker. Fascination followed promptly and a new passion was born! Smoking pipes had been a fascination of his in two ways - first, there was the beauty of form and material in them, elegance in their design, a true art form in its own right and second, the irresistible challenge of making a functional product that requires skill, knowledge and patience to bemade. Great determination was required and produced to learn as much as one can about pipe smoking, pipe making, about tobacco, materials, about the art of it all. As a result of his hard work, a number of unique pipes have been made and presented at Pipesart.
